About Us ~ Village Roaster
We opened the Village Roaster in 1979, and at the time, we were the only store in the Denver and Colorado area that roasted specialty coffee in house. Today, that tradition continues, and the number one product that we sell is roasted whole bean coffee.
In 1990, we added a takeout beverage bar to our store on West Alameda Avenue in Lakewood, and as coffee shops and coffee houses grew in popularity, so too, did the Village Roaster. Today, we offer other products, including: loose and packaged teas, bulk spices, coffee and tea accessories, candy and chocolates, and many gift items and gift baskets.
You can purchase all of our quality products online, and we’ll ship anywhere in the United States!
In recent years, we’ve added a cart store in the Lakewood Cultural Center (at 470 S. Allison Parkway) and a coffee shop inside St. Anthony’s Hospital (at 11600 West 2nd Place). We also provide catering services and have a mobile espresso bar that we can set up at any type of event in the Denver metro area.
The Village Roaster strives to manage its business with preserving the environment as a priority aiming for sustainability. Coffee grounds generated from in store beverage preparation are provided to local gardeners to use as compost. The large quantity of milk that is purchased from a local dairy comes in rinse and return bottles. This saves hundreds of gallon jugs weekly from the recycling process or addition to landfills. Additionally, cardboard, paper and glass are recycled. All of our lighting in the store has been updated to the new energy efficient lighting. We also encourage our customers to bring their own reusable cups for a beverage from our espresso bar and offer a discount ($.10 off for any mug, $.20 off for a Village Roaster mug).
The Village Roaster supports the community through donations of brewed coffee for special events and meetings. This includes donations to local schools, West Metro Fire, Lakewood Civic organizations, and the Action Center.
Our mission is: To continually offer a high quality product, to provide a unique customer experience, and to have a well-trained and motivated staff responsibly serve our community.
